Naturopathic Medicine

Definition of Naturopathy
Naturopathy or naturopathic medicine is a form of alternative medicine that employs an array of pseudoscientific practices branded as "natural", "non-invasive", or promoting "self-healing". The ideology and methods of naturopathy are based on vitalism and folk medicine, rather than evidence-based medicine.

Program Goal(s ):
Graduates of the program will be able to, by obtaining the expected capabilities, observe the professional ethics, take care of health of people, obtain the capability of information management and lifetime learning, and perform duties well in offering services in health system, incorporating the core 'Principles of Naturopathic Medicine':

-First, Do No Harm (Primum non nocere).

-The Healing Power of Nature (Vis medicatrix naturae) ...

-Identify and Treat the Causes (Tolle causam) ...

-Doctor as Teacher (Docere) ...

-Treat the Whole Person (Tolle totum) ...

-Prevention (Praevenic).
 
Expected Capabilities and  Skills:
Expected capabilities from the graduate(s) of Naturopathic Medicine' are as follows: 
1-Communication skills; 
2-Patient care taking (diagnosis and rehabilitation); 
3-Health and prevention promotion in health system  
4-Personal progress and regular learning; 
5-Professional obligation, medical ethics and rights; 
6-Decision making skills, reasoning and problem solving among others.

Curriculum:
Basic Sciences, Clinical Preliminaries and Clerkship covering but not limited to the following are required for BHSc (NAT) award;
-Anatomy  
-Physiology
-Biochemistry
-Genetics
-Nutrition
-Microbiology
-Parasitology
-Mycology    
-Virology  
-Bacteriology
-Immunology 
-Community Medicine 
-Pathology
-Medicine
-Materia medica
-Psychiatry
-Ophthalmology
-ENT
-Surgery
-Obstetrics and Gynecology
-Child Health.

COURSE DURATION: 
4 Years.

COURSE FEE:
5,000 USD / academic year.

COURSE REQUIREMENT(S):
A score of 65% and above in Premed (PREMED) .

Mode of Instruction: Online (Machine Learning, Self-Paced).

Award Title: Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy.

School leavers and graduates with science background, health professionals and other individuals with an interest in  Naturopathy.
